October meeting summary & November Events

October Meeting Summary

We had 36 people attending our October meeting! It was great to catch up with old friends and get acquainted with new ones.

We were delighted that Sharon Talley could join us to talk about nutrition in relation to Parkinson’s. In her presentation, Parkinson’s Disease: What foods can you eat (or not eat) to help with symptoms? she talked about leaky gut, inflammation and the effects of sugar but also gave suggestions for foods that can help improve dopamine production. If you missed her presentation, you can click here to read her handout (PDF)

Sharon is close to completing her Masters in Clinical Nutrition (just a few weeks!), and will have her website up and running in the New Year. In the meantime, if you have any questions for her, you can contact her at: sharonltalley@gmail.com

Sunrise at Fair Oaks always puts on a good spread, too, and they are planning a very yummy brunch.
