April Speaker Summary

We had a great turnout of over 30 people to hear the presentation by Rhonda Miller and Elizabeth Gray, elder law attorneys from Matsen, Miller, Cossa & Gray, PLLC. They talked about estate planning, including various documents such as wills, trusts and power of attorney. They also talked about how to pay for long term care and explained the basics of Medicaid.

Evening Socials . . . We’re back!!

Just an informal get together to connect with your support group friends. No need to RSVP, just drop in! Light meals, beverages and desserts are available.

Mall walking & coffee
every Friday at 10:30 am

At: Corner Bakery at Fair Oaks Mall
The idea is that you can walk before or after joining the group for coffee and a chat with your support group friends at Corner Bakery at 10:30 am. If you’re really feeling enthusiastic you can walk before AND after! No need to RSVP.

FYI – it’s .75 of a mile to walk around on one level, inside of the mall, including all the nooks and crannies.

Physical & Occupational Therapy for Parkinson Disease:
The Science and Practice of LSVT BIG™

You are invited to attend a two-hour interactive symposium on movement disorders and physical and occupational treatment for people with Parkinson disease (PD).

This symposium is FREE so it is a wonderful opportunity for people with PD, family members and friends, and other healthcare professionals who want to learn more about movement and PD to attend.

The symposium will include a 1-hour lecture presented by world experts in physical/occupational therapy for people with Parkinson Disease. This lecture will be followed by an interactive session where participants with PD are invited to interact with physical or occupational therapists practicing Parkinson-specific movement exercises (LSVT BIG). Please wear comfortable clothing to the event.
