In case you didn’t get this in a PFNCA email:
PFNCA Carepartner Summit to be held August 1st in N. Bethesda, providing important tools to help excel in this important role
PFNCA will host a Carepartner summit on August 1st at Saint Marks Presbyterian Church in N. Bethesda, Maryland. Featured speakers include:
Dr. Greg Pontone, Director, Movement Disorders Psychiatry Clinical Programs at Johns Hopkins, who will discuss coping strategies when a loved one faces a chronic disease
Jennifer Cooper OTR/L, ECHM, CAPS, Occupational Therapist at The Virginian, who will discuss Daily Living with Parkinson’s from an occupational therapist’s perspective
Leon Paparella, MSW, GSP, PFNCA Support Group Specialist, whose will discuss relationship dynamics between carepartners and their loved ones.
There is no cost for carepartners to attend. Several people have inquired as to whether their loved one with Parkinson’s may also attend. At this time, PFNCA is exploring the possibility of having dedicated space under the supervision of a Certified Nursing Assistant in another part of the church for loved ones with Parkinson’s who need to be regularly assisted. If this option is of interest to you, please contact Jamie Smith at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
Saint Marks Presbyterian Church is located at 10901 Old Georgetown Road in N. Bethesda, Maryland.
