From our wonderful support group facilitator, Donna:
Our regular support group meeting (on Saturday, September 24 from 10:00 to 12:00 at Sunrise Senior Living at Fair Oaks, Joseph Siewick Dr.) will be held in the Bistro area, down the hall to the right from our regular meeting room. Both the meeting room and library are being renovated over the next two months. That leaves the Bistro and a lovely out door patio available to us. As the weather has been rather warm and unpredictable lately, I chose the Bistro for our September 24th meeting.
We do not have a speaker this month, but welcome the opportunity to catch up with old friends and get to know new members better. We can share our thoughts on how to live our best lives with Parkinson’s and discuss exciting research news.
Please join me in thanking Ruth Ann Hadley, who contacts and arranges most of the program speakers for our group, and does a terrific job. I am grateful for her efforts and for all our wonderful speakers with expertise in areas of interest to people living with PD and their care partners who’ve generously donated their time. We welcome suggestions for topics and speakers.
I became a member of this support group over 12 yrs ago and was welcomed by friendly people, who knew from first hand experience, the changes and adjustments Parkinson’s could bring. Although we may have different symptoms, we share many of the same issues and concerns. The friendships we make and caring support given and received, is why we continue to come to meetings. I hope you can join us this Saturday, September 24, from 10 AM – to noon, for our monthly meeting . If anyone wants to bring a snack to share, it is appreciated ( but not as important as your presence) . I will bring .paper plates, napkins, utensils and some type of munchie. Hope to see you this Saturday
